Model Y Hitch Cover Removal Tools

The hitch cover on the Model Y has multiple clips on all sides that make it surprisingly difficult to remove and easy to damage. We used universal pry tools at first, but found that they were damaging the cover, so we made our own custom solution.

Releasing the clips doesn’t take much force, it just needs to be applied in the right places. Our Model Y hitch cover removal tools are the right width, length, and thickness to mate right up to the hitch cover clips and make them easier and safer to remove. They come as a pair, fit well in your hands, and are small and easy to keep handy in the car.

Our tools are designed, printed, and packaged in California by Tesla owners and fans. We strive to reduce our environmental impact by using 3D printers to make strong parts with internal structures that optimize our use of plastics and by offsetting our 3D-printer farm’s energy with Tesla Solar and Powerwalls.

You may also want to modify your Model Y’s hitch cover to reduce the number of clips to make it much easier to remove with the tools.

Sold as a set of two.

So glad we picked this up. We tried to use plastic spudger tools from computer repair kit and other tools from the garage but could not get the tow hitch cover plate off. This tool works perfectly.

LivingTesla is the most responsive company I’ve purchased from. I bought this tool and the end was a bit thick making it difficult to insert. I wrote a note about it, got an immediate reply, and was sent a modified tool that works perfectly! Thank you so much for listening and being so responsive. I’m now a customer for as long as I own Tesla’s.
